I love using twitter. I’ve been a member for quite some time, in fact, since November of 2008! All of the while, I’ve been around for all of the good and even some of the bad. The bad includes seeing some of my favorite social network having to downsize it’s employees.
Not everyone has started using Twitter, especially when it comes to the amount of people that use other social networks, specifically: Facebook. Yesterday, in an SEC filing, Twitter said it expects to incur a $10 million to $20 million charge for severance costs associated with the downsizing of it’s work force. The downsizing will affect Twitter’s product and engineering departments.
“We feel strongly that Engineering will move much faster with a smaller and nimbler team, while remaining the biggest percentage of our workforce. And the rest of the organization will be streamlined in parallel”
Made some tough but necessary decisions that enable Twitter to move with greater focus and reinvest in our growth. http://t.co/BWd7EiGAF2
