This upcoming Friday, November 20th, Jessica Jones will be hitting Netflix. The show, originally, was supposed to be on a different medium, namely a television channel!
It is said that Jessica Jones, was intended for ABC, which also has Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter on it’s schedule. Jessica Jones producer, Melissa Rosenberg, began developing the series years ago, around 2010 with ABC in mind. Then, the show was called “AKA Jessica Jones.” There were a total of 4 different TV series that were “in development,” one being “AKA Jessica Jones,” the others: a Hulk series, a Mockingbird series, which would become Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., Cloak and Dagger.
The show didn’t pan out as planned for ABC, probably due to how dark, gritty and violent it was/is. Then in 2013, Marvel struck a deal with Netflix, which they will team up for 4 other series, including: Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist.
