Can you guess how much the FBI paid to unlock the San Bernardino iphone?

Apple and The FBI have been at it for while in court and am sure you must have heard about it, well incase you haven’t then i am going to brief you about the case.
The FBI requested for Apple’s assistance in unlocking an iphone 5c which used to belong to a terrorist involved in the San Bernardino terrorist attacks and Apple wholeheartedly dishonoured the FBIs request with claims that doing that will require the creation of a special IOS version which will put the privacy of many customers information at risk.
A mysterious hacker group reached out to the FBI and provided them with the necessary tools to unlock the IPhone 5c belonging to the terrorist which proved successful.
When the director FBI was asked at the security conference in London how much the FBI had to pay the Hackers for the special tools, his reply was;
“A lot, more than I will make in the remainder of this job, which is seven years and four months, for sure. But it was in my view worth it.”
So let’s do the math.
The Director of the FBI receives just about $14,891 in a month according to public information.
If you multiply that by 88 months the answer will be $1,310,408.
So there you have it, it means the Hackers were paid more than $1.3 million dollars.
I say that’s alot of money to hack into a $300 phone so i hope it better be worth it.Source
