Take this one with a MOUNTAIN of salt, but while at a press day for the upcoming Deadpool Blu-Ray release(release date: May 10th!), director Tim Miller and producer Simon Kinberg talked about future possibilities with the world of Deadpool.
While talking with SuperheroHype, Kinberg talked about the possibility of partnering with Sony’s neighborhood Spider-Man:
“I would love to see it. Both of us are close with [Marvel’s] Kevin [Feige], we respect and love Kevin. If it were even remotely possible, we will find a way ’cause we’d would love to see it.”
“Simon and I have been trying to build bridges.”
There have been some unusual sort of partnerships here lately, Marvel is getting to include Spider-Man in it’s Marvel Cinematic Universe, and will become creative executive producers for Sony’s Spider-Man reboot, Spider-Man: Homecoming. Kingberg, who has worked with Fox (X-Men, Fantastic Four) as well as Disney (Star Wars Rebels) has a relationship with Kevin Feige.
Kinberg’s official thoughts on the Deadpool/Spider-Man team-up:
“I just don’t know if it would be possible.”
The Deadpool Movie came about because of the fans. I wonder if fans could sway Deadpool/Spider-Man into fruition. For now, there’s always comic books…
