According to Deadline, the list of actors that had tested for the upcoming Han Solo stand-alone movie in the Star Wars universe has narrowed quite a bit. It looks as Alden Ehrenreich is the name that is being reported that has come to the fore-front as far as possibly being the lead for the upcoming movie. Screen tests narrowed the field to Taron Egerton and Jack Reynor. Ehrenreich will be the lead in an upcoming “Howard Hughes project” being directed by Warren Beatty, which will be released by Fox later on this year. He was also in Hail, Caesar!
The Han Solo movie will focus on Solo’s days before meeting Luke, Obi-Wan, C-3PO and R2-D2. The movie will be directed by The Lego Movie directors: Phil Lord and Chrisopher Miller, with the script being written by Lawrence Kasdan and his son Jon Kasdan and Kathlee Kennedy producing. The senior Kasdan will be an executive producer as well.
