The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Comes To Life in Hollywood

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter opened Tuesday Night in Hollywood with fireworks and music conducted by John Williams, who composed it.

The Harry Potter park is a partnership between Warner Bros., which made the movies, and Universal Studios.

Universal Studios’ new Wizarding World of Harry Potter Hollywood brings magic to life, making Hogsmeade and Hogwarts now iconic aspirational destinations.


What’s so great about this themed park? They’ve actually built real streets, taverns and shops, including Honeydukes and the magical Ollivanders Wand Shop, where a wand chooses a lucky wizard every few minutes.

In the Wand Shop you can grab interactive wands for $50, which performs perform magic with actual spells. Many are quite difficult, but the staff members are there to help.

The biggest attraction is Hogwarts Castle and is simply magnificent, the building itself and the ride.


Similar attractions exist at Universal Studios Florida, which opened Harry Potter’s Hogsmeade in 2010. But the Hollywood version includes a stationary Hogwarts Express, Owlery, village and a few more great things from Harry Potter’s universe.

It’s like experience Harry Potter books and movies in real life.
