In only a few hours April fools day will have come and gone for another year, and that’s completely ok by me. Year after year this fabled day comes and groves of people flock to the internet to gawk at the misleading gadgets, inventions, services and so forth.
This year though I’ve felt thoroughly disappointed as nothing has really caught my eye or made me stop with a nostalgic grin on my face. The last one I remember was a couple years back when Microsoft released an app for Windows Phone 8.1 that made your phone boot to a brand new mobile operation system for mobile and it was spectacular, it was MS Dos. Ok, Ok, admittedly I admit I know it was a joke. Although, it was very clever and very nostalgic.
That brings me where I am now the Canadian Library and Archives has claimed to have dug up the declassified journals and millitary records of Canadas most famous soldier: James “Logan” Howlett, better know by his X-Men alias Wolverine. We of course know this isn’t real, despite how much I really want to be.
The LAC have released documetation of Logans career below and also, have a small breakdown of his military history.
- WWI: Captain in the Canadian Armed Forces (Devil’s Brigade). Fought at Ypres in 1915. Wounded by a sword through the chest.
- WWII: Returned to the Devil’s Brigade in the Second World War, as an allied spy and paratrooper for the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion during the Normandy landings on D-Day.
- Cold War: based in Ottawa and Calgary, worked for both CSIS and the CIA.
- Logan later changed his operative name to ‘Wolverine’, and worked with various NGOs.
