Does Rogue One Need An Opening Crawl?

When it comes to Star Wars and the movies in it’s universe, fans are picky. No if’s, and’s or but’s about it, because I’m one of those fans! But to me, I’m content with getting a new Star Wars movie! Enter Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Recently, Kathleen Kennedy, who is both the head of Lucasfilm and producing Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, sat down with Entertainment Weekly to talk about the reshoots of Rogue One. She also touched on whether Rogue One would include some of the stuff that Star Wars movies include, such as the opening crawl:

“We talk about that all the time. It’s something that we’re right in the midst of discussing even now, so I don’t want to say definitively what we’re doing,” she said. “The crawl and some of those elements live so specifically within the ‘saga’ films that we are having a lot of discussion about what  will define the [stand-alone] Star Wars Stories separate and apart from the saga films. So we’re right in the middle of talking about that.”
