Let’s take a trip, down memory lane, to the good old days of gaming with CARTRIDGES!
I’m a computer nerd first and foremost. The second thing that I do with the majority of the time that I have left over, is play video games. We were talking the other day in the office, about classic games that we played when we were younger, among those titles: Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga, NBA Jam, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., the original Sonic The Hedgehog, Shinobi and the list goes on and on! But one title that was included in those, was GoldenEye 007. It was THE first shooting game (Duck Hunt wasn’t in this league!) that stuck with everything that ever had the opportunity to pick up the controller for it.
Well, it appears there was going to be a GoldenEye 007 HD for the Xbox 360, according to Rare Thief, a site dedicated to unearthing unfinished games that never get fully developed or launched. In the video below, 30 minutes of footage from the unfinished game are shown.
GoldenEye 007 was the first first-person shooting video game that I played and let me tell you, if it was available today, updated of course, it would probably be something that I played! There have been several different games with the title, but this specific game would have been the exact game with the textures and graphics being changed on the fly, as they occur in the game with zero to little effort.
Oh what could have been!!!
