HBO has released the official trailer for its upcoming miniseries The Young Pope. The 10 episode series is about the first American Pope. The series star Jude Law and Diane Keaton.
Here is the official synopsis of The Young Pope:
From Paolo Sorrentino, director of the Academy Award®-winning ‘The Great Beauty,’ ‘The Young Pope’ tells the controversial story of the beginning of Pius XIII’s pontificate. The eight-episode series stars Jude Law as the complex and conflicted Pius XIII, the first American pope. The cast includes Diane Keaton as Sister Mary, an American nun living in Vatican City, as well as Silvio Orlando, Scott Shepherd, Cécile de France, Javier Cámara, Ludivine Sagnier, Toni Bertorelli and James Cromwell. The series is produced by Wildside, and co-produced by Haut et Court TV and Mediapro. Executive producers for Wildside are Lorenzo Mieli and Mario Gianani together with John Lyons. Executive producers for Haut et Court TV are Caroline Benjo, Carole Scotta and Simon Arnal. ‘The Young Pope’ is a co-production of HBO and Sky.
The Young Pope episode one will premiere 9 pm/10 pm ET/PT Sunday January 15th 2017 and the next episode will air the next day same time on Monday January 16th 2017. The subsequent episodes will air same time the following Sundays and Mondays. Check out the trailer below.
