Marvel Cancels Black Panther: World Of Wakanda Spinoff Comics

Writer of Marvel’s Spinoff Comics World of Wakanda confirmed that the comic book series was cancelled, after six issues published. This came two days after Black Panther Trailer was released, and was announced by writer Roxane Gay on her Twitter page.

World of Wakanga stars the Black Panther’s female guards, played by actors including Lupita Nyong’o in the upcoming movie.

Black Panther: World of Wakanda Issue 1

This is the second Black Panther spinoff to be canceled this year. Black Panther and the Crew got canceled last month after only two issues being published!!!

Both comics were canceled due to poor sales and perhaps we might have been experiencing a growing problem in comics publishing! But on the on the other hand, Marvel and DC rely on a flawed system focusing their attention on preorders from comic stores. That means that sales digitally or bought a month later aren’t valued  as much as the preorders.

It’s a hard system to get comics a chance for survival as new readers don’t get a chance to experience new comic book stories as Publishers don’t explain the preorder system and rely on die-hard fans to make a comic a success and keep on publishing.
