A few days ago, The Mummy director Alex Kurtzman had the following to say to Fandom about Universal Pictures and their Dark Universe:
“We know we’re going to do Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, Dracula, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Phantom of the Opera, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Invisible Man,” he says.
Also during the conversation, Kurtzman mentioned the following actors that he’d love to bring in and/or see in the Dark Universe fold:
“I’d love to bring Michael Fassbender in, I’d love to bring Jennifer Lawrence in, I’d love to see Charlize Theron in there, Angelina Jolie…”
Currently, Johnny Depp is cast as the Invisible Man and Javier Bardem as Frankenstein. The next movie on Universal’s Dark Universe slate is Bride of Frankenstein, being directed by Bill Condon, scheduled for February 14th of 2019.
The first movie from Universal’s Dark Universe, The Mummy, hits theaters THIS FRIDAY, June 9th!
