Apple, Amazon, Fox, Warner Bros, and Universal Studios in pursuit of the 007 James Bond franchise as Sony battles aggressively to retain rights.

As we all know or maybe just some of us, in 2015 Sony’s rights to the famous James Bond franchise ended after the blockbuster Spectre which starred Daniel Craig. There is a huge chance that Warner Bros is expecting to become MGMs new distributor, however, two huge tech giants have declared their interests in purchasing the distribution rights. That’s right it’s Apple and Amazon. Sony is still putting up an aggressive fight to retain the rights even though Universal Studios and Fox haven’t been left out of the race. Well, this is what happens when the famous 007 franchise is up for grabs. Apple and Amazon are willing to throw in loads of cash much more than what Warner Bros is bidding for and according to sources from Hollywood reporter Apple’s interests lies beyond just the film rights but are looking towards Television Licensing deals. The former presidents of Sony Pictures TV who are currently Apples new video programmers are the ones spearheading the pursuit of a franchise with an estimated value between $2 to $5 billion.
So now it’s all about who is willing to pay more for the iconic brand while still keeping the legacy of 007.
