Blade Runner Black Out 2022- Prequel Animated Short Film to Blade Runner 2049

Warner Bros. Pictures and Alcon have released the third and final prequel short film for the upcoming feature film sequel Blade Runner 2049. The prequel short films bridge the gap of the  missing 30 years  between the original Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049. The 3rd and final prequel film is an anime short directed by Shinichiro Watanabe(Cowboy Bebop: The Movie, Samurai Champion, A Detective Story). The short also feature an original scores by Grammy nominated Flying Lotus aka Steven Ellison and an original song by Grammy nominated singer Lauren Daigle. The two previous prequel short films includes 2036 Nexus Dawn and 2048 Nowhere To Run. You can check out all three prequel short films below in chronological year sequence below.

Blade Runner 2049 story picks up 30 years after the event of the original film. A new Blade Runner, LAPD Officer K( Ryan Gosling) uncovered secrets that could further plunge the society into chaos. His discoveries lead him on a quest to look for Rick Deckard(Harrison Ford), a former Blade Runner who has been missing for 30 years. Other cast includes Jared Leto(Dallas Buyers Club, Suicide Squad), Mackenzie Davis(Halt and Catch Fire, The Martian), Robin Wright(House of Cards) and Dave Bautista(Guardians of Galaxy, Spectre). Blade Runner is base on the novel of Philip K. Dick’s Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep? Director of Arrival, Sicario and Prisoners, Denis Villeneuve is at the helm of Blade Runner 2049 with story by returning Ridley Scott(Blade Runner, Alien) and Hampton Fancher( Blade Runner) and screenplay by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green(Smallville, Everwood, Heroes).

Blade Runner 2049 is set to open in theaters October 6 2017.
