Gotham S4E5 Preview : “A Dark Knight: The Blade’s Path”

Fox Network has release a preview for the next episode of Gotham. Spoiler Warning ahead if you have not watch last night episode. Over the four season of watching Gotham, I do not recall having as much fun as I had watching last night episode titled The Demon’s Head. Perhaps it’s close to Halloween season I’m more inclined to enjoy a funny and scary and dark episode or perhaps the showrunner should get detective James Gordon, actor Ben McKenzie to write more for the series like the one he penned on episode 4. It is one of the more hilarious and intended humor like Victor Zsasz scene stealing quips and playing up his psychotic expression. We need more Victor Zsasz please. Not to mention Ed Nygma sending his invite to Penguin via a trio of amateur rappers on a poorly written riddles. Ben McKenzie even took the creative license to make Bruce Wayne going into a darker place when he watched Ras al-Ghul slit the throat of his new-found friend for refusing to hand over the ancient dagger.

Other observation:

  • The two Ras al-Ghul medieval minions he sent after Bruce Wayne and the dagger looks like The Mountain from Game of Thrones and the dog like Anubis is a cross of Golum/batboy from hell.
  • Ras al-Ghul ultimate goal is not recovering the ancient dagger rather using it as an excuse to recruit and develop Bruce Wayne as his rightful heir.
  • Sofia Falcone prove to be more ruthless than her father when she willingly played the naive woman letting Penguin think she is being baited to lure out Carmine Falcons loyalists. Even James Gordon despite his suspicion falls for her damsel in distress act.
  • Detective Harvey Bullock and Selina Kyle were notably absent from last night episode. Someone should send a search team to locate Poison Ivy. She must have lost in a maze in a botanical garden.

Gotham stars Ben McKenzie as Detective James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Sean Pertwee as Alfred, Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean, Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Cory Michael Smith as Edward Nygma/Riddler, Jessica Lucas as Tabitha Galavan, Chris Chalk as Lucius Fox, Drew Powell as Butch Gilzean, Maggie Geha as Poison Ivy, Alexander Siddig as Ras al Ghul, Anthony Carrigan as Victor Zsasz and Crystal Reed as Sofia Falcone.

Gotham returns Thursday 8 pm EST on Fox Network. Check out the preview below.
