Just in time for Halloween season, Fandango has released an opening scene online for the Stephen King’s It horror film. Released since September 8th, It has already smash the box office record being the all time highest gross horror film. Raking in at $653 million a week before Halloween is enough for the studio to order for a second installment with a release date of September 6th 2019. The sequel will see the return of screenwriter Gary Dauberman and returning director Andre Muschietti.
It is set in a small town of Derry, Maine. Seven young outcast are about to face their worst nightmare when an ancient shape shifting evil that emerges from the sewer every 27 years to prey upon the town’s children. Over the course of one summer the seven children must band together and over come their fears to face off with the blood thirsty and murderous evil clown known as Pennywise.
It stars Bill Skarsgard(The Divergent Series) as It, Sophia Lillis(The Garden), Finn Wolfhard(Stranger Things), Jaeden Lieberher(Midnight Special), Jack Dylan Grazer(Me, Myself and I), Wyatt Oleff(Guardians of the Galaxy), Owen Teague(Bloodline), Chosen Jacobs(Hawaii Five-0), Nicholas Hamilton(The Dark Tower), Jackson Robert Scott(Skin), Jake Sim(Raising Expectations), Stephen Bogaert(American Psycho) and Jeremy Ray Taylor(Ant-Man).
