Netflix has confirmed actor Vincent D’Onofrio’s fearsome Wilson Fisk/Kingpin character is set to return to Hell’s Kitchen as the formidable enemy of Daredevil. The network also confirmed a new showrunner in Erik Oleson. No stranger to the superhero genre, Oleson served as writer and executive producer for The CW Arrow Season 3. He also wrote and executive produced for Amazon’s hit political drama, The Man in the High Castle last season. Daredevil Season One was run by Steven S. DeKnight who is currently busy with Pacific Rim: Uprising. Season Two was overseen by season one writers Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez including The Defenders. Petrie and Ramirez will remain in consulting capacity with Daredevil 3.
Head of Marvel television production and executive producer Jeph Loeb has this to say about actor D’Onofrio “Vincent is an exceptional actor who returns with the incredible gravitas he brings to Fisk,” He added on Oleson : “We’re very excited how Marvel’s Daredevil develops through the creative lens and guidance of our new showrunner, Erik Oleson.”
Daredevil Season 3 is slated for 2018 on Netflix. Series regular Charlie Cox as Matt Murdoch/Daredevil, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson and Deborah Ann Wohl as Karen Page will be returning. As will executive producers, Jeph Loeb, Jim Chory, Drew Goddard along with Erik Oleson.
In the meantime, fans of Netflix Marvel series do not have to wait for a long time as The Punisher is set to debut November 17th.
