Fox network has release a preview for the next episode of Gotham titled “Stop Hitting Yourself”. Spoiler Warning ahead if you have not watch last night episode “A Day In Narrows”. Professor Pyg(guest star Michael Cerveris) the new serial killing villain in Gotham is not done with GCPD corrupted police who are on the take from Penguin yet. Every cops lives in fear except detective James Gordon. Pyg seems to think Gordon is the only one who pass his purity test. I say anyone who call himself a professor should have done better research and could have easily find out the number of times Penguin and James worked together to undermined Carmine Falcon and Fish Mooney. Anyhow, this episode is all about the deteriorating relationship between Gordon and Bullock as Harvey continue to dismiss James idea and instead yield to Penguin’s command. The cop buddies relationship continue to deteriorate when Harvey ignored James warning by walking into Professor Pyg’s trap. Bullock and his men were fired upon with automatic machine guns inside an abandoned building. While Penguin and his militia remain outside watching helplessly, James ever the hero, rushed in to saved his buddy and his fellow cops. Of course it did not escape some of us who thought maybe just let the machine guns run out of bullets the same result would have been achieve? No matter, back at the GCPD, the media were all over James, the hero of the day. This did not escape the resentful Harvey especially some of his underlings begin to shift their loyalty to James. So Professor Pyg escaped to terrorize Gotham for another day.
Got to hand it to Victor Zsasz who pick a good week to take the time off because his thin skin boss could not handle the failed attempt to captured Professor Pyg. His temporary replacement of the week, a double gun wielding Headhunter(guest star Kyle Vincent Terry) was disposed with an up close and personal stabbing by Penguin by the end of the episode.
Meanwhile Master Bruce continues to spiral downhill after “killing” Ras al Ghul. He was contend to finally spend his billion dollars of inheritance on buying a club where he can party and booze with his fast friends. I sensed more death around our vigilante in training to pushes him further into his “dark’ mindset.
The on again and off again trio of Bird of Prey-esque Selina, Tabitha and Barbara is back again. Still no sign of Ras al Ghul transferred energy in Barbara Kean yet.
