Hulu has released a new trailer for its upcoming political thriller, The Looming Tower. Base on the Pulitzer Price-winning book of the same title by Lawrence Wright, the story tells how the rise of Osama Bin Laden and the Al-Qaeda that leads to the 911 event that could be prevented if not for the long-standing rivalry between the agencies of FBI and CIA. The ten episode series follows the FBI’s I-49 squadron in New York and CIA’s Alec Station in DC Washington in the 90’s. While both agencies are working for the greater good for the country, their inability to share information with each other might have led to the path of the most severe attack in the US soil by a foreign enemy.

Based on the Pulitzer-Prize winning book, The Looming Tower traces the rising threat of Osama Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda in the late 1990s and how the rivalry between the FBI and CIA during that time may have inadvertently set the path for the tragedy of 9/11. The series follows members of the I-49 Squad in New York and Alec Station in Washington, D.C., the counter-terrorism divisions of the FBI and CIA, respectively, as they travel the world fighting for ownership of information while seemingly working toward the same goal – trying to prevent an imminent attack on U.S. soil.

The Looming Tower stars Jeff Daniels, Tahar Rahim, Wrenn Schmidt, Bill Camp, Louis Cancelmi, Virginia Kull, Ella Rae Peck, Sullivan Jones, Michael Stuhlbarg, Alec Baldwin and Peter Sarsgaard.

The limited series is executive produced by Dan Futterman, Alex Gibney, Lawrence Wright, Craig Zisk and Adam Rapp. The Looming Tower is produced by Legendary Television for Hulu.
