Netflix has released the official trailer for Marvel’s Jessica Jones Season 2. The long-awaited second season Jessica Jones is back as New York City’s tough-as-nails private investigator. Although this time, the case is even more personal than ever before. Fueled by a myriad of questions and lies, she will do whatever it takes to uncover the truth. According to creator Melissa Rosenberg Season 2 will follow a bit closely to Marvel Comics source material. Earlier Rosenberg told Deadline: “I think one of the things I would be able to do now, that’s harder to do in the first season, is to really expand on the ensemble…I would hope to further expand on the ensemble, and on Jessica’s world. She ends in a very different place than she started off. She’s still going to be Jessica Jones — that is not going to change. She will continue to drink and make mistakes, and accidentally drop people onto train tracks, but something has changed for her by the end of this season, and I’d just love to explore that in the second season.” Raelle Tucker(True Blood, Supernatural, The Returned) will executive produced and join the writing team on season 2. Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory also serve as the executive producers.

Here is a brief synopsis for Jessica Jones season 2:

“New York City private investigator Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) is beginning to put her life back together after murdering her tormenter, Kilgrave,” the synopsis reads. “Now known throughout the city as a super-powered killer, a new case makes her reluctantly confront who she really is while digging deeper into her past to explore the reasons why.”

David Tenant who played Kilgrave, the big bad and tormentor of Jessica Jones on season 1 is set to return. Main cast returning on season 2 includes Rachael Taylor as Patricia “Trish” Walker, Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth, Eka Darville as Malcolm Ducasse plus additional new cast Leah Gibson as Ingrid and J.R. Ramirez as Oscar.

Following Jessica Jones Season 2, Luke Cage Season 2 is expected to premiere in Spring or Summer of 2018 with Daredevil Season 3 slated to debut in the Fall.

Jessica Jones Season 2 premieres March 8th on Netflix. Check out the official trailer below.
