Today, Disney hosted Marvel Studios: Black Panther “Welcome to Wakanda” – a celebration of fashion inspired by the movie that included a daytime press preview and an exclusive evening event in celebration of the campaign.
During the day, more than 40 fashion media and influencers met and interviewed the designers who have made bespoke looks and capsule collections inspired by the film. Later in the evening, the one-of-a-kind looks by CHROMAT, Cushnie et Ochs, Fear of God, Ikiré Jones, Laquan Smith, Sophie Theallet, and Tome were on display in an immersive, Wakanda-inspired venue that hosted an exclusive New York Fashion Week party attended by film talent and other celebrities from across the Company; Disney and Marvel executives; and fashion, entertainment and mainstream media and influencers. Following the event, the one-of-a-kind looks will be auctioned off via CharityBuzz.com in support of the humanitarian organization, Save the Children.
