The biggest season yet in the Call of Duty World League enters its first stage finals as the top eight teams from the CWL Pro League Stage 1 will face-off starting today.  At stake is the winner’s share of a $500,000 event prize pool and the role of early season favorite in the record setting 2018 season of the CWL, which features a $4.2 million total prize purse. Taking place at the MLG Arena in Columbus, Ohio, the CWL Pro League Stage 1 Playoffs, Presented by PlayStation®4, will see top teams from North America and Europe compete in Call of Duty®: WWII on PlayStation®4 from today through Sunday, April 8.

“The best teams in Call of Duty esports so far this season have set themselves apart from the rest of the competition and finally, after eight intense weeks of matches are ready to come together to decide not only who’s the champion for Stage 1 of the CWL Pro League, but also who’s the team to beat going forward this year,” said Call of Duty Esports Director, Kevin Flynn.

The eight teams competing at the CWL Pro League Stage 1 playoffs are:

·         Rise Nation ·         Red Reserve ·         Team Kaliber ·         OpTic Gaming
·         FaZe Clan ·         Team EnVy ·         eUnited ·         Luminosity Gaming

Teams bound for the CWL Pro League Stage 1 playoffs are immediately qualified to compete in the CWL Pro League Stage 2 series, beginning May 15 and running until July 29 at the MLG Arena in Columbus. Fifth and sixth seeded teams from each Division of the Stage 1 series, which did not qualify for this weekend’s playoffs, will also move on to compete at the Stage 2 series. Moving onto Stage 2 is an important step for teams in this year’s Call of Duty World League season, as all sixteen teams will be guaranteed a spot at the 2018 CWL Championship later this summer.

Fans can tune into all of the broadcast action on MLG.com/CallofDuty and Twitch.tv/CallofDuty. Matches will also be available to watch via the in-game Call of Duty®: WWIItheater within Headquarters on PlayStation®4.
