Thank you to Warner Bros. Home Entertainment for allowing me to review the Father Figures Blu-Ray Combo Pack!

WOW! I was NOT expecting the heart in Father Figures! If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, you should head to the store, buy the Blu-Ray Combo Pack of Father Figures and get some snacks and gather around the TV!

The movie starts off with Peter Reynolds (Ed Helms) at his job being a proctology doctor. He’s divorced and frustrated with his life. His son doesn’t even want to go with him, even though it’s his weekend and they’re supposed to be visiting his grandmother (Glenn Close), who will be getting married. At the marriage, his brother Kyle Reynolds (Owen Wilson) who seems to have everything going for him, including making $.03 cents per bottle of BBQ sauce sold. The brothers come to find out that their father isn’t who they thought he was.

This leads them to an adventure to Miami, Florida to try and find former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Terry Bradshaw. They head to a Terry Bradshaw Car Lot where Bradshaw just happens to be signing autographs that day. The guys introduce themselves and ask Bradshaw if he remembers their mother Helen. He begins explaining that he does remember her and a few details about some things that she might have done in their time together. All three head to Bradshaw’s house, where his wife is cooking dinner. Bradshaw introduces  the twins to his wife, where she calls Bradshaw over to tell him that it might not be such a good idea to have random people over, they could be trying to rob them or ask for money. Bradshaw and the twins are playing catch on the beach, when Kyle goes for a bomb, Rod Hamilton (Ving Rhames) shows his true defensive player mentality, tackling Kyle in the process by a clothesline.  The group starts talking and Hamilton is asked by Bradshaw if he remembered Helen, again, the talk leads to some of the stuff that the twins might not want to hear until it’s said that Helen is their mother. Hamilton remembers that Helen didn’t go on the trip to Australia during the time the boys would have been conceived. This leads to Roland Hunt (J.K. Simmons).

Roland Hunt was another fling that was in love with Helen. The twins pull up to his house and knock and knock and knock on the door til Hunt greets them with a gun pointed to Kyle’s head. The twins quickly mention that they are just looking for a Roland Hunt because his name was mentioned by Terry Bradshaw and Rod Hamilton linking him to their mother. Hunt introduces the twins to his mother, thinking that she would be their grandmother. Hunt leads the twins down to the basement, to a shoebox that contains pictures of their mother. As the twins were leaving, Hunt was walking somewhere to do his “work” as a “repo man.” They offered to give him a ride and insisted, leading to one of the funnier moments in the movie that you’ve seen in all of the trailers and clips, Hunt getting hit by the red Ferrari. Hunt gets seriously injured but survives the injuries. In leaving Hunt at the hospital to deal with his injuries and law enforcement, Kyle pays him money for what he believes will be a key piece of information. The info leads to a police officer who happens to live in the same place that a hitchhiker (Katt Williams) they picked up is trying to get to.

The twins tie the hitchhiker up to make sure they don’t become part of a serial killer’s story. Along the way, they get into it and stop on train tracks. Kyle throws the keys out of the car and Peter follows him and they start fighting. Part of the heart of this movie shows up here as the train makes pieces of the car (it was stopped on train tracks). The twins get a clue to where they are headed by the police that come to their rescue.

What remains of the movie: a one night stand for Peter, going to a viewing/wake, the twins running into Peter’s one night stand and the rest of the heart that makes this movie sort of a tear jerker.

Bonus Features: the gag reel will have you laughing non-stop!
