Darth Maul: Apprentice is still one of my favourite Star Wars fan movies of all time! If you are a fan of Darth Maul or just love light sabers, you NEED to watch it now!
Darth Maul Apprentice is a few years old now, but is still one of the best fan movies. It stars Maul_cosplay as Darth Maul. He is a well known cosplayer and stuntman who fits this role perfectly. Check out his Instagram page for more of his Cosplay’s. He clearly put a lot of effort into training for this role. He did an amazing job at portraying Darth Maul not only through his look, but also his movement and combat techniques.
The movie was made since the creators (Vi-Dan Tran & Shawn Bu from T7Production) shared the widely accepted opinion that Darth Maul was a character who deserved a lot more screen time. This fan movie features Darth Maul taking on a number of Jedi Knights. The choreography is great and actually feels like a real, intense light saber battle. Darth Maul’s famous double-sided light saber makes a return here too. I also appreciated how each Jedi Knight has their own unique look and personality. This really made it feel authentic.
Here is what the creators had to say about this epic fan movie:
We worked incredibly hard on this film for almost 2 years! We always felt that Darth Maul should have had more screen time. So we wanted to create a film just for him with the best light saber fights we could do! This is not based on any books, comics etc.
The fan movie does indeed have some amazing light saber battles. The actors and stuntworkers really did a brilliant job. Personally I would love this same production company to make more Star Wars fan movies in the near future!

This video really shows how dedicated the team were to bringing fans an authentic experience. I hope you all have a great Star Wars day! May the fourth be with you!
