Rockstar Games have released a new companion app for Red Dead Redemption 2!

Red Dead Redemption 2 is finally here and is available NOW. To celebrate the release of this huge game, Rockstar have also released a companion app for Apple and Android devices. Here is what Rockstar have said about this new app:

The Red Dead Redemption 2 Companion App connects directly with your PlayStation 4 or Xbox One as you play, delivering real-time interactive information to your smart device. Available for download on October 26th on both iOS and Android, you can pan and zoom the map, set waypoints or mark areas of interest with a tap on your screen, aiding your exploration and discovery throughout the expansive world of Red Dead Redemption 2.

This seems to be a very useful app for those who own the game. It should make it easier to navigate the map quickly without having to pause the game etc. The app also shows Arthur Morgan’s statistics in real-time. This means that players who want that extra immersion in this amazing virtual world can remove the HUD from their tv screen, so it only shows pure gameplay and no health bars. The app also lets players examine Arthur’s in-game journal:

The journal gets updated as you progress through the story.

Also worth noting is that Rockstar will soon be announcing the online mode for this game, Red Dead Online so keep checking NothingButGeek for updates.

The official ‘RDR 2 companion’ app should be available either right now or very soon on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, depending on your region!
