First and foremost, thank you to Warner Bros. Home Entertainment for allowing me to review TEEN TITANS GO! TO THE MOVIES Blu-Ray Combo Pack!

This was pretty good AND funny! I had the opportunity to watch Teen Titans GO! To The Movies with my 12-year old son. Now, he’s “in the know” more than I am when it comes to Teen Titans GO! That being said, there are PLENTY of jokes in this movie! There’s all sorts of DC Comics characters, including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Plastic Man, Young Bruce Wayne, Aquaman and of course the TEEN TITANS: Beast Boy, Robin, Cyborg, Raven and Starfire. There’s even a sort of homage to Back To The Future and some great 80’s music: A-ha’s “Take On Me!” The movie was REALLY well written, with characteristics from each character and their personalities in the movie.

Being a superhero movie, there’s the very much needed Stan Lee cameo to give the movie levity. There are also references to Deadpool, the Marvel Cinematic Universe and even tongue-in-cheek humor towards the DC Extended Universe, of which, the Teen Titans are a part of. You know if a movie can make fun of itself, then pretty much everything comes into play.

The movie focuses on Robin and him trying to be a “star” on his own, while not leaving his friends behind. Slade (voiced by Will Arnett) uses his powers of manipulation with a famous superhero movie director (voiced by Kristen Bell), to keep the Justice League busy with their own movies/productions and convinces Robin that he needs his own movie, while actually using the production to take over the world. The clever play on the D.O.O.M.S.D.A.Y. Device (which is now intended as a movie streaming service) is hilarious the way it ties into the plot of the movie.

The bonus features are even worth enjoying being that movie is a little on the shorter side! I ended up having to watch the movie three times in a row, thanks to my son!

RATING: A+

My 12-year old son’s rating: A++

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced the home release information (Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital HD) for TEEN TITANS GO! TO THE MOVIES!

When the Teen Titans go to the big screen, they go big! “Teen Titans GO! to the Movies” finds our egocentric, wildly satirical superheroes in their first feature film extravaganza—a fresh, gleefully clever, kid-appropriately crass and tongue-in-cheek play on the superhero genre, complete with musical numbers. Get ready to LOL when “Teen Titans GO! to the Movies” arrives on Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD and Digital.

The first-ever big-screen version of DC Entertainment and Cartoon Network’s animated TV show stars Greg Cipes (TV’s “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”) as Beast Boy, Scott Menville (TV’s “Spider-Man”) as Robin, Khary Payton (TV’s “The Walking Dead”) as Cyborg, Tara Strong (the “My Little Pony” franchise) as Raven, and Hynden Walch (TV’s “Adventure Time with Finn & Jake”) as Starfire, reprising their roles from the series. Will Arnett (“The LEGO® Batman Movie”) and Kristen Bell (“Frozen”) also lend their voices as the evil Slade and Hollywood director Jade Wilson.

Peter Rida Michail and Aaron Horvath directed the film from a screenplay by Michael Jelenic and Horvath, which is based on characters from DC. Horvath, Jelenic, Peggy Regan, Michail and Arnett produced the film with Sam Register serving as executive producer. The music is by Jared Faber. Superman was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
