First and foremost, thank you to NACON for sending me a NACON RIG 900 MAX HX Definitive Gaming Headset to review! To me the RIG 600 PRO HS is a great entry-level gaming headset and the RIG 900 MAX HX is a great evolution for NACON.
I’ve had this headset for a few weeks and with Activision’s Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare III’s beta going live over the weekend, I had extra reason to be on the video game!
The NACON RIG 900 MAX HX is DESIGNED FOR XBOX, but it will also connect to a PlayStation or PC by USB dongle and Bluetooth technology allows for it to connect to Nintendo Switch or your cell phone.
The first thing you can feel once you open the box is weight. Now, I don’t mean HEAVY WEIGHT, but I do mean you can feel the quality of the headset. The RIG 900 MAX HX feels SOLID. In the box, you’ll find the headset itself, a base station for charging and the USB dongle. One thing you’ll need, similar to the 600 HX Dual Wireless Gaming Headset, you’ll need to download the RIG 900 MAX NAVIGATOR app. The app allows access to advanced features of the RIG 900 MAX headset from Nacon. You can change mic levels, set up different profiles for different games or users and set different levels for gaming and/or music on your RIG 900 MAX. The headset is further customizable with the Dolby Personalization app. Dolby Personalization gives you the most customizable profile by running a scan on your body, including your head, ears and shoulders and delivers an acoustic mapping that fits YOU!
Once you get your settings where you want them, you’ll be able to experience the three wireless modes that are included: Game, Bluetooth and Dual. If you’re using the 2.4 GHz USB dongle, then you can also connect to your cell phone via Bluetooth and be on the phone while gaming, so you won’t have to miss any phone calls or notifications while putting in work.
Outside of the quality and feel of the headset, the battery life of the headset will convince you that the RIG 900 MAX HX is what you need for gaming! The battery life is 50+ HOURS! You read that right, 50+ HOURS if you’re using the USB dongle! The headset will last even longer if you’re using a Bluetooth connection.
All in all, I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND the RIG 900 MAX HX for all of your gaming needs! It would also make a great Christmas present for that gamer in your life!
