The iconic crime thriller film The Departed from Academy Award® winning director Martin Scorsese (Raging Bull, Goodfellas) will be available for purchase on 4K Ultra HD Disc and Digital for the first time on April 23.

The Departed’s prestigious ensemble cast stars Academy Award winner Leonardo DiCaprio (The Revenant, The Wolf of Wall Street) , Academy Award winner Matt Damon (Good Will Hunting, The Martian), three time Academy Award Winner Jack Nicholson (One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Terms of Endearment, As Good as it Gets), and Academy Award nominee Mark Wahlberg (The Fighter, Boogie Nights), with Emmy Award winner Martin Sheen (television’s “The West Wing,” Apocalypse Now), BAFTA nominee Ray Winstone (That Summer, Nil by Mouth), Academy Award nominee Vera Farmiga (Up in the Air), Academy Award nominee Alec Baldwin (The Cooler), Emmy nominee Anthony Anderson (television’s “Black-ish,” Hustle & Flow), and James Badge Dale in supporting roles.

Directed by Scorsese, the screenplay is by Academy Award Winner William Monahan and is based on the 2002 Hong Kong action thriller Internal Affairs by Alan Mak & Felix Chong. The film was produced by Brad Pitt, Brad Grey, and Graham King.

The Departed was nominated for 5 Academy Awards and won 4, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Film Editing and Best Adapted Screenplay.

The Departed will be available to purchase on April 23 on Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc from online and in-store at major retailers and available for purchase Digitally from Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV, Google Play, Vudu and more.

The Departed will be available on Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc with collectible steelbook packaging for $40.41 ERP and includes an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc with the theatrical version of the feature film in 4K with HDR and a Digital download of the film, and on Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc for $33.99 ERP and includes an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc with the theatrical version of the feature film in 4K with HDR and a Digital download of the film. Fans can also own The Departed in 4K Ultra HD via purchase from select digital retailers beginning on April 23.

The 4K remaster of The Departed was completed at Warner Bros. Discovery’s Motion Picture Imaging (MPI) with the participation of the film’s Academy Award-winning editor Thelma Schoonmaker (Raging Bull, The Aviator).

Synopsis:

South Boston cop Billy Costigan (Leonardo DiCaprio) goes under cover to infiltrate the organization of gangland chief Frank Costello (Jack Nicholson). As Billy gains the mobster’s trust, a career criminal named Colin Sullivan (Matt Damon) infiltrates the police department and reports on its activities to his syndicate bosses. When both organizations learn they have a mole in their midst, Billy and Colin must figure out each other’s identities to save their own lives.
