On Saturday, CrunchLabs, a STEM education and entertainment company from Mark Rober (renowned YouTuber with 27 million subscribers and former NASA engineer), announced the launch of a new experience on Roblox, “Build a Rocket VS Mark Rober.” The experience encourages users to learn science through building rockets and navigating a series of challenges in an entertaining storyline. Users gather and combine materials in a laboratory before navigating through an intergalactic adventure. After every space mission, users return to home base at CrunchLabs, a virtual recreation of Mark’s real-life engineering headquarters, to upgrade their spacecraft to explore further and win the game.

Mark Rober says:
“I want to reach as many young minds as possible and get them stoked on science. Many of my former NASA colleagues said that video games like ‘Kerbal Space Program’ got them interested in engineering, and I wanted to build upon that idea and create something both wildly entertaining and deceptively educational to inspire the next generation.”
Fans of Mark Rober will delight at the myriad of easter eggs the experience has to offer, including some of Mark’s famous inventions (including the glitter bomb and the liquid sand hot tub) and sneak peeks at his upcoming YouTube videos. Standout features of the experience include compelling visuals and an animated storyline. Additionally, the complex physics engine in the experience makes building rockets easy, but requires users to master mass, force, thrusters and navigation.
Sweepstakes Announcement
Visitors who complete the experience before December 31, 2023, can enter for a chance to visit CrunchLabs in the physical world to hang out with Mark Rober and his team for a day and build a physical version of the winning rocket designed in the game. Details to enter the Sweepstakes can be found at crunchlabs.com/roblox.
