HBO has released a new teaser for its upcoming comedy series, Barry. The series is created by Saturday Night Live’s Bill Hader with Silicon Valley executive producer Alec Berg. Bill Hader will make his directorial debut on episodes of the series.
Hader stars as Barry a hitman who trail his intended target to an acting class. He was intrigued by the class and decides to change his career and become an actor. Base on the teaser, it does not seems like an over the top comedy series but with a tinge of darker tone that we saw Bill Hader in his role on dramatic film like The Skeleton Twins. If my assumption is correct, Barry might be a sustainable series to keep the viewers intrigue for a few more seasons to come.
Here is the official synopsis for Barry:
BARRY is a dark comedy starring Bill Hader as a depressed, low-rent hitman from the Midwest. Lonely and dissatisfied in his life, he reluctantly travels to Los Angeles to execute a hit on an aspiring actor. Barry follows his “mark” into an acting class and ends up finding an accepting community in a group of eager hopefuls within the LA theater scene.
Barry cast includes Henry Winkler(Happy Days), Anthony Carrigan(Gotham), Stephen Root(The Man in the High Castle), Sarah Goldberg(Hindsight), Marcus Brown(Ballers), Alejandro Furth(Law and Order:True Crime), Paula Newsome(Transparent) and John Pirruccello(Incarnate).
Barry is set to debut March 25th on HBO. Check out the new teaser below.
