Netflix has released the official trailer for its upcoming family film, Benji. The film is a retelling of the 1974 classic of the same title. On a meager budget of $500,000, the original Benji made an impressive $45 million in the world-wide box office. The film subsequently follow with sequels, television specials and series, video game and a couple of documentary. The lovable mix breed street dog is created by Joe Camp. The friendly paw has the uncanny timing of helping out the unfortunate in the right place and the right time.
Netflix new takes on Benji will have the scruffy dog come to the rescue of two New Orleans school kids he befriended when both were robbed and kidnapped. The film is written, directed and produced by Brandon Camp(Love Happens, Dragonfly) son of Joe Camp. Jason Blum of Get Out, The Purge, Insidious, Paranormal Activity also serve as the producer. Benji stars Gabriel Bateman(Annabelle, Lights Out), Darby Camp(Big Little Lies, Grey’s Anatomy), Jerod Haynes(Southside With You, Blueprint), Gralen Bryant Banks(Pitch Perfect 2), Angus Sampson(Mad Max:Fury Road, Winchester) and Will Rothhaar(Grimm, Code Black).
