Today, had a few minutes on the phone with Sean Stone, who happens to star in, one of the two writers and produced FURY OF THE FIST AND THE GOLDEN FLEECE!
NBGeek: Thanks for taking the time out to spend a few minutes with us on the phone!
Sean Stone: Not a problem!
NBGeek: So, tomorrow, Fury Of The Fist And The Golden Fleece releases.
SS: Yes it does! It will be available on Video On Demand, Google Play, iTunes, Amazon and in select theaters! (There are links at the bottom of the post)
NBGeek: Let’s dive right in! You wore a few different hats for this particular movie, you’re starring in it as well as writing it. Do you have a favorite of those roles?
SS: Interesting question, and before I answer that, there was a third role, I am also a producer on this particular film!
NBGeek: My apologies!
SS: Nothing wrong. But out of all of the roles, and to me, they all work hand-in-hand with each other. But as a writer, I actually know what I need to do in front of the camera. That makes things a lot easier in terms of translating what someone else has written. As a producer, the most interesting thing was making everyone’s schedule work with the shooting schedule. There are quite a few cameos and a nice, big cast and we had to make everything work while only having certain people available for a day or two at the most. The movie was shot in just over 2 weeks.
NBGeek: So this movie is definitely has a throwback feel, around the late 70’s or 80’s as an entire decade. Something that stands out is the use or lack-there-of of CGI.
SS: CGI is still used, but it’s different. It’s not the main focus of the movie.
NBGeek: It’s used as more of an accent…
SS: YES! That’s exactly what it is. It’s used to make you feel nostalgic and bring back the feeling of the 80’s.
NBGeek: It made me feel like I was sort of watching the old Batman show in a way, with the BOOM! BAM! POW! screens that would pop up during fight scenes.
SS: The old Adam West ones! I think that Alexander (Alexander Wraith, Director) made some good choices as far as what effects he chose for things.
NBGeek: Agreed! The blood splatter on the screen and some of the lightning and stars that are shown take me back in time. Another scene, specifically, that had to be a lot of fun is that last one!
SS: Don’t spoil it!
NBGeek: No spoilers, but I know that for you it had to be a LOT of fun!
SS: I do have to say, there’s nothing wrong with running around in tight pants, a white tank top and a magical cucumber in your pants if you know what I mean!
NBGeek: I know you’re a busy person, any thing you have that you might be working on or that you can talk about?
SS: There are things that are done, in the can. There are also some stuff that I can’t quite speak on yet, but you will be one of the first to know when I can talk about them! Check out the movie tomorrow, whether in theaters or on Video On Demand or Amazon, Google Play, iTunes or wherever you get your movies!
