Electronic Arts and DICE revealed a lot more of the upcoming Battlefield V at their EA PLAY 2018 conference recently!

It’s E3 time so many developers and publishers are announcing new projects and providing more details about their upcoming games. EA recently had a conference where it showcased a number of different games, including Battlefield V.

EA released a new multiplayer trailer. Here is the synopsis and trailer:

“Every battle is unique. Every mode its own challenge. Battlefield V multiplayer provides unmatched intensity and scale in a sandbox of all-out war. Take on classic modes like Conquest or experiences like Grand Operations, where you’ll participate in vast historical battles across multiple maps – and modes – and relive moments of bravery and desperation while fighting your way to the final objective.”

Grand Operations:

The highlight is the ‘Grand Operations’ feature. It is said to be “the ultimate multiplayer experience” which is designed to showcase the many maps / modes of the game. Each Grand Operation will also provide a strong narrative to help keep the player engaged as well as to tell stories inspired by historical events. The first Grand Operation will be live soon after the game has launched. Here is what DICE themselves had to say about Grand Operations:

“Grand Operations is our upgraded version of Operations in Battlefield 1 – but now much greater than the sum of its parts. This modular experience takes players across fictional in-operation “days,” where each day is represented by a round played on a combination of a map and mode that brings the narrative to life. The actions you, your squad, and your team take on day one will have a direct impact on the narrative and gameplay start of day two, which in result will impact day three, and so on. Play well on the first day and deploy with an adequate supply of ammo or vehicles when the map shifts, for example. Do poorly, and you’ll deploy the next day with perhaps fewer respawns, vehicles, or other resources.”

Other Multiplayer Modes:

EA made it clear that other traditional game modes will also return to Battlefield V:

  • CONQUEST: A very popular and massive 64 player online mode with large maps, vehicles, aircraft all available. This mode is easily one of the most enjoyable and can lead to some very intense online battles. Here is what DICE have said: “Fight for key locations on a massive map where you and your team will come closer to victory when you control the majority of the flags. Build defenses and solidify your frontlines using the recently-unveiled Fortifications system, towable weaponry, and Squad Reinforcements.”
  • BREAKTHROUGH: “In Breakthrough, the map is divided into several sectors, all owned by the defending team at start of match. If you’re on the attacking team, your goal is to take the sectors one by one in a sequential order, which is done by controlling all the sector’s available capture points.”
  • FRONTLINES: This mode has been described by DICE as “a mix of Conquest, Rush, and Battlefield 4’s Obliteration mode.” Two teams fight for control over flag objectives. Each time a team has gained control, the next objective is unlocked and the frontline is therefore pushed even further towards the other enemy teams main base. This happens until the last flag has been obtained – which leads to the enemy base being opened!
  • DOMINATION: Two teams fight over multiple objectives. Once a team has taken over half of the flags, the enemy team loses respawns.
  • TEAM DEATHMATCH: A classic mode where two teams fight to the death!

As in other battlefield games, teamwork is heavily encouraged and is often vital if you are to win the match. This is something that makes each mode very enjoyable.

BATTLE ROYALE:

EA and DICE also teased that Battlefield 5 will be getting a Battle Royale mode later on. More details about this are sure to be revealed soon so stay tuned to NothingButGeek!
