Mammoth Media, the first mobile entertainment network, has partnered with Cloud9, the premier North American esports organization, to be the presenting sponsor for matches played by the Cloud9 Academy team during the North America League of Legends Academy Summer Split. For the first time ever, fans can tune-in to watch the series during Cloud9’s Twitch broadcast with a chance to win cash prizes by playing esports-themed trivia on Mammoth Media’s newest entertainment destination, Arena.
“As we continue to extend our entertainment network we are always looking for innovative ways to get our entertainment destinations in front of new audiences – so partnering with Cloud9, a leader in esports, was the natural next step for us,” said Benoit Vatere, CEO and co-founder, Mammoth Media. “Arena’s live format and mob-based trivia challenges really lends itself to the esports world so we could not be more excited to kick off LCS Academy Academy Summit Split with pre and post shows with the Cloud9 team”.
Every Thursday prior to the day’s LCS Academy match, Cloud9 will host an exclusive pre-game show on Twitch where they will provide highlights, interviews, as well as kick off a live trivia game on Arena where players can choose their mob and battle to win money. During the game, viewers on Cloud9’s Twitch channel will see Cloud9’s own casting talent, including former players, staff members, and friends of the C9 family. In addition, in the post-match wrap-up show, Cloud9’s Academy team will join viewers during the second Arena trivia game for some head-to-head competition.
“We’re excited to partner with Mammoth Media for our LCS Academy broadcasts,” said Jack Etienne, CEO and co-founder of Cloud9 Esports, Inc. “Partnering with Mammoth gives us a new, fun way to engage directly with our fans through trivia matches on Arena.”
Tune into Cloud9’s Twitch broadcast every Thursday to watch the League of Legends Academy team, including SHIRO(Ziqing Zhao), BLABER (Bobby Huang), GOLDENGLUE (Greyson Gilmer), KEITH (Yuri Jew), ZEYZAL (Tristan Stidam), JONATHON (Jonathon Nguyen) and Head Coach WESTRICE (Jonathan Nguyen) battle it out on the Rift, and on Mammoth Media’s Arena.
