Bethesda Game Studios have announced The Elder Scrolls: Blades at their E3 2018 Showcase!

Blades will be free-to-play on iPhone, iPad and Android devices.Bethesda also announced that pre-registration is now open so players can get the chance to try out the game in Early Access before it launches in fall 2018! Blades will be a first person RPG game for mobile (it may also come to other platforms in the future). Here is the official synopsis:

“In The Elder Scrolls: Blades you are member of the ancient order of the Blades. Forced into exile, you seek refuge in your remote hometown only to find it reduced to rubble. Now, it’s up to you to restore your town back to its former glory. Blades contains the many hallmarks Elder Scrolls fans enjoy from the franchise – beautifully rendered, console-quality environments, powerful magic, tons of gear to collect, upgradeable skills and of course, real-time fantasy battles! Fights are settled using the touchscreen to slash your sword, deflect oncoming attacks, cast a mighty bolt of lightning and more.”

Features:

  • Quest. Create. CONQUER: Restoring your town will take more than tools and materials. It also needs your guidance! As you rebuild your surroundings, you will also be able to customize your city as you choose.
  • Arena: This will provide players an opportunity to engage in some one-on-one combat. Enemy attacks must be deflected in real-time and counter attacks have to be done at the right moment in order to be most effective!
  • Abyss: This is described by Bethesda as ‘an infinitely replayable mode in which daring heroes push their limits floor after floor in a never-ending dungeon, where enemies become deadlier and deadlier as you progress.’
  • Multiple Ways to Play: Blades provides many different styles of play. For example, you could play through the single player story, replay Abyss to improve your score or fight real world challengers in the Arena. Each form of gameplay is suited to different styles of gamers.
  • Blades supports both landscape and portrait mode: This is a brilliant move by Bethesda. Sometimes it is not convenient to play mobile games in landscape with two hands so this portrait mode should be a great addition.
