Epic Games recently updated Fortnite to V4.5 and have included the Playground Limited Time Mode and More!
Fortnite Battle Royale is a FREE 100 Player PvP mode where players are dropped onto an island and must survive using a variety of weapons and through collecting materials. You can play by yourself or with friends in a duo or squad. The last player or team standing wins!
(Battle Royale is a part of the main Fortnite game (the main mode is called Save The World). This ‘Save the World’ mode is still in development and early access to it can be purchased. However, Battle Royale mode can be downloaded and played for free)
Playground LTM (Battle Royale):
Playground Mode is something many fans have been asking for over the last few months. It basically allows you to drop on the island with up to 3 people (in a squad). There is no one else on the island and there are more resources available to find. Friendly fire is on so you can engage your friends in epic build battles aswell as work together to build huge structures. The storm circle only closes in after 55 minutes so you have plenty of time to explore the island and practice with various weapons etc. Also, respawns are on so if you are killed you immediately respawn. This mode is basically like having your own private island to have fun on without worrying about getting eliminated by other players. More details can be found in the patch notes later in this post.

Celebrate summer with the Star and Stripes Heroes! Find them in the Event Store for a limited time.
There were also some great additions to the game last week (dual pistols and map markers)!

Epic Games have also added Dual Pistols to the game. Check out a photo of these below:

Go towards the light! Visual indicators are now shown in-game wherever friendly map markers are placed.

Summary
Playground is a low-pressure environment where friends can let their creativity run wild. Build massive structures. Practice with the weapons and items. Fight against your friends. Have fun!
Mode Details
- You’ll have one hour to create, play and train as you wish. Hop in and try out version 1 of Playground!
- Drop into the Battle Royale map with a squad of friends for an hour
- Friendly Fire is on
- Players respawn on elimination unless downed by the storm
- The storm doesn’t start closing in for 55m, and takes 5 minutes to close in
- Resources gathered grant 10x the normal rate.
- 100 Llamas will be spawned on the map
- Chests & Ammo Boxes spawn 100% of the time
Weapons + Items
- Drum Gun added
- The Drum Gun is a hybrid weapon that combines the stopping power of a rifle with the suppressive ability and fire rate of an SMG.
- Available in Uncommon and Rare variants.
- 26/27 base damage.
- 50 round capacity.
- Uses Medium Ammo.
- Can be found from floor loot, chests, and Vending Machines.

Heroes
- Stars and Stripes Constructor has been added to the Event Store.
- Stars and Stripes Penny – Legendary Electro-Pulse.
- Available July 4, at 8pm ET.
- Stars and Stripes Outlander has been added to the Event Store.
- Stars and Stripes A.C. – Legendary Trailblaster.
- Available on July 4, at 8pm ET.
Weapons + Items
- Stink Bomb added
- Hurls a grenade that unleashes a cloud that damages enemies over time. Doesn’t persist outside of missions.
- Freedom’s Herald Pistol added to the Weekly Store.
- Launches firecrackers that bounce off walls, and will knockback and damage enemies in a small radius when they explode.
- Available on July 4, at 8pm ET.
- The Lynx Assault Rifle has been added to the Weekly Store.
- A slow firing burst assault rifle with above average headshot damage and excellent stability.
- Available on July 4, at 8pm ET.
