For the first time ever, the Red Bull Rubik’s Cube World Championship will be coming to Boston this weekend, taking place on September 22, and I thought this might be of interest to you.
40 speedcubers from around the world, including current world record-holder, Feliks Zemdegs (4.22sec), will be challenging each other, as the toughest mental athletes out there compete for a share of $30,000 and the inaugural championship ring (modeled after the Super Bowl winner’s).
The founder of the Rubik’s Cube, the most popular game in history, Erno Rubik will be in attendance to take in the culmination of what started as a child’s game and has now developed into a world championship-level sport of speed, coordination and intelligence.
