Now entering its tenth year of operation, the Call of Duty Endowment has been singularly focused in its mission to help veterans find high quality careers by supporting groups that prepare them for the job market. With recent research by the Endowment showing one third of working veterans being underemployed, and a 59% increase in veterans asking for help, the organization has also sought to raise awareness of the value veterans bring to the workplace.

Thanks to the support of gamers, donors, and #CODNation fans, 2018 was another banner year for the foundation.

By completing its goal of placing more than 50,000 veterans (both across the United States and the United Kingdom) into well-paying jobs earlier than anticipated, the Call of Duty Endowment’s mission continues to have a vast and meaningful impact.

Call of Duty Endowment’s Impact: Highlights of 2018

With the help and support of our circle of donors and supporters, 2018 was an exceptional year for the Endowment. Highlights include:

  • The placement of 10,686 veterans into well-paying jobs throughout 2018, with a total of 54,426 veterans placed since 2009.
  • An average cost-per-placement in 2018 of $522; which is nearly six times as effective as United States Government efforts.
  • By a commitment to high performance standards measured on a quarterly basis,93% of job placements were for full-time work, and there was an 87% six-month retention rate.
  • The Endowment helped fund 11 organizations, awarding a total of $5.2 million in 2018 grants, with $36 million in grants awarded since 2009.
  • The Endowment has received multiple awards and acknowledgements, includinghonors at the highly-competitive Cynopsis Social Good Awards, The Vettys, as well as GuideStar’s highest recognition for transparency and impact.
  • Activision Blizzard and the Call of Duty Endowment were also named the 2018 Gold Halo Award winner in the Social Services Category; the third time the Endowment has been recognized by the prestigious Engage for Good organization.

The Endowment continues into 2019 with an expanded scope of work, but with one overriding mission of providing the most tangible resource hundreds of thousands of veterans need: high-quality jobs.
