Rockstar Games have added more content to Red Dead Online (including exclusive early access content for PS4 players)!
Red Dead Online is the multiplayer mode for the hugely sucessful Red Dead Redemption 2. The newest addition is more Free Roam missions in RDR Online. These let you take missions from known characters such as the fan favourite Sadie Alder (from story mode). Here is what Rockstar said about these new missions:
Ride out to the Adler Ranch in Ambarino or search out the infamous gunslinger Black Belle in Lemoyne for new Free Roam Missions to play in Red Dead Online for both PS4 and Xbox One.
Sadie Adler (pictured above) turned out to be one of the best side characters in Red Dead Redemption 2’s story mode. It is great to see her return in Red Dead Online. The events of Red Dead Online take place before the RDR 2 Story mode so this will give fans an insight into what Sadie was like before meeting Arthur Morgan and the gang. I personally also want a Sadie Adler Story mode expansion as I feel she is a character worth expanding on and there is a lot of storytelling potential here. The gunslinger Black Belle is also a fascinating character and should have some fun missions online:
PS4 Early Access Content:
Some new additions are currently only available for PS4 users.
This week’s updates also include new Early Access content for players on PlayStation 4 including the devastating Ancient Tomahawk along with a new Make It Count: Ancient Tomahawk Showdown Mode. There’s also Last Stand, a bloody free-for-all Showdown Mode with no way out, no second chances and one winner. PlayStation 4 players will also get early access to the new Perlino Andalusian Horse and new horse equipment, clothing and emotes.
- Ancient Tomahawk: The throwable Ancient Tomahawk is free of charge and available to players of any rank. It is available from the fence in-game.
- The Perlino Andalusian Horse, Horse Equipment, Clothing: These no cost, no rank restriction items are available in-game for PS4 owners. The new horse has higher stamina and can be acquired for free along with a new saddle and saddlebags. Also, the Finely Jacket, Stenger Studded Spurs and the Caldwell Hat are available for free from any general store in-game.
- Make-it-Count Ancient Tomahawk Showdown Mode: This mode is a lot of fun and can be quite intense.Players must only use Ancient Tomahawks and be the last one standing in this free-for-all mode.
- Last Stand: “Last Stand is a new variation of free-for-all competition where players compete to survive in two-minute bouts, resulting in a bloody free-for-all with no way out, no second chances, and one winner. Be the last one alive to win a bout. You can jump into Last Stand via the Red Dead Online main menu, the Quick Join option from the Player Menu or by visiting the Special Series icon on your map.”
Players will also be rewarded 5 gold bars for playing in a posse anytime before the 27th May.
NEW Clothing:
The Clothing section of the Wheeler, Rawson and Co. Catalogue has new options on offer, including the Wescott Skirt, Valdez Vest, Citadel Boots, and limited stock of the Plaid Cap.
Other Bonuses:
All A Land of Opportunities Missions, Free Roam Missions, Showdown Modes are receiving an additional 25% RDO$ payouts. Playing in a posse this week will reward 5 gold bars and extra XP.
