Developer Sweet Bandits Studios and publisher Tripwire Presents, today released the first in a multi-video series on the upcoming stealth-action multiplayer espionage title, DECEIVE INC. The new developer diary covers the journey of DECEIVE INC., including the inception of Sweet Bandits Studios and its collaborative partnership with Tripwire Presents, the game’s ‘70s spy-movie inspiration, gameplay elements, map design, and more!
Developer Diary #1:
The developers at Sweet Bandit Studios also speak to the challenges of finding the right partner as an independent studio for DECEIVE INC. – and the difference between traditional publishers and publishers who are game developers who support their vision for a new approach to multiplayer that stands in a class of its own. The creators also dive deep into the inspirations behind DECEIVE INC., with the goal of making each player feel like they are in a spy-vs-spy action movie from the ‘70s with a plethora of modern and futuristic gadgets to play with. The video takes a closer look at the gameplay design for DECEIVE INC., which mixes stealth and action into a devilishly tense game of cat-and-mouse between each spy, where every person, or object, on the map can be a threat to escaping with the objective.
DECEIVE INC. deploys you into the world of high-stakes subterfuge, working for a private corporation with complete monopoly over the international espionage market. Disguise yourself as anyone (or anything) you meet in an instant, access state-of-the-art gadgets the rest of the world can only dream of and unleash powerful skills that would make Hollywood super spies jealous. But you are not alone. Rival spies are after the same objective and every single one of them is as skilled, cunning, and well-equipped as you. Blend in, grab the objective, and break out. In the end, only one spy can complete the mission and get the paycheck when working at DECEIVE INC. Company policy.
DECEIVE INC. is currently scheduled to launch in early 2023 on PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store), the PlayStation®5 computer entertainment system, and the Xbox Series X|S console system, but players can sign-up for upcoming Alpha playtests on the official website and wishlist on Steam and the Epic Games Store now.
