Some phones never stop ringing. The haunting sequel to the critically acclaimed horror phenomenon, BLACK PHONE 2 comes home exclusively on digital* platforms to buy or rent November 4, 2025 and on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD December 23, 2025 from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. Director Scott Derickson (Sinister, The Exorcism of Emily Rose) continues the nightmare with darker, deadlier, and more terrifying scenes than ever before as Ethan Hawke (First Reformed) returns to his most disturbing role as deranged serial killer The Grabber opposite Mason Thames (How to Tain Your Dragon franchise, Incoming) in his breakout feature film role as Finn. Expanding on the original short story by Joe Hill, “the rare sequel that’s scarier than its predecessor” (Gizmodo) and hailed by critics as “a cold blooded masterpiece” (Slasher Reviews) comes home with all-new bonus content when purchased at participating retailers, including seven deleted scenes and in-depth behind-the-scenes featurettes, bringing home even more intensity and shocking new scares and secrets.

True evil transcends death and the black phone rings again as The Grabber (Hawke) torments Finn (Thames) from beyond the grave by menacing his sister Gwen (Madeline McGraw; Toy Story 4, “Secrets of Sulphur Springs”). Haunted by horrific visions, the teens set out to stop their psychological torture only to uncover a disturbing secret as they confront a killer who has only grown more powerful in death.

A Crooked Highway production, BLACK PHONE 2 also features outstanding performances from a talented ensemble cast including Demián Bichir (The Nun, A Better Life) Miguel Mora (The Black Phone), Jeremy Davies (“Justified”), and Arianna Rivas (A Working Man). Produced by Emmy®-winning producer Jason Blum (The Invisible Man, Get Out, M3GAN), co-written and co-produced by C. Robert Cargill (Doctor Strange, The Gorge), and co-written and executive produced by Joe Hill, the film’s supernatural elements and eerie, atmospheric setting at a deserted, snowed-in church camp high in the Colorado mountains, combine to weave a terrifying journey filled with disturbing isolation and terrifying tension.

Synopsis:

Four years ago, 13-year-old Finn killed his abductor and escaped, becoming the sole survivor of The Grabber. But true evil transcends death … and the phone is ringing again.

Four-time Academy Award® nominee Ethan Hawke returns to the most sinister role of his career as The Grabber seeks vengeance on Finn (Mason Thames) from beyond the grave by menacing Finn’s younger sister, Gwen (Madeleine McGraw).

As Finn, now 17, struggles with life after his captivity, the headstrong 15-year-old Gwen begins receiving calls in her dreams from the black phone and seeing disturbing visions of three boys being stalked at a winter camp known as Alpine Lake.

Determined to solve the mystery and end the torment for both her and her brother, Gwen persuades Finn to visit the camp during a winter storm. There, she uncovers a shattering intersection between The Grabber and her own family’s history. Together, she and Finn must confront a killer who has grown more powerful in death and more significant to them than either could imagine.
